antique window project

When I started working at the BCM, they had just replaced all the windows in one of their ministry houses, so I got three of the old windows to craft with! We moved right after I got them and they've been behind a pile in my craft room ever since, but I was on an organizing kick a few weeks ago and I rediscovered them. I decided to use Krylon looking glass spray and this tutorial to turn two of them into mirrored windows.

Here I covered up the lower panes so I could paint them with chalkboard paint later.

It took quite a few coats of paint, but I eventually got it looking pretty reflective.

Finally finished and on the wall! It took a few days to track down the right hooks for hanging them, so it felt good when I got them up off the floor and into place. I got the iron handle at Hobby Lobby so we could have a convenient place for Nike's leash.

Steve could care less what's on our walls, but for me it's definitely more of a home with some good decorations.
