meet me in st. louis

Steve and I celebrated one year together in St. Louis! We went there to see a Minnesota Vikings game (they're Steve's favorite NFL team), but there are plenty of other fun things to do in St. Louis, so we had a very packed trip. On Saturday night we got into town and went straight to this awesome pizza place called Dewey's for dinner. It was very tasty!

we could see the football stadium from our room

this beautiful tree was in the lobby of our hotel

Here you can just see Adrian Peterson's 82 yard touchdown run around this guy's hand:

we won!

After the game, we went shopping at Macy's and then headed to a place called City Museum. It's an abandoned shoe factory that's been turned into a giant playground, all with recycled materials. There's a cave section, a tree house section where you can crawl all over the ceiling, a crazy outside section, and a 10-story slide. Here's the view on the way up to the slide, which is the farthest metal spiral:

In the cave section there are lots of cool places to crawl:

there's me, waaaaaay up there
Here's the outside section. Everything you see can be climbed on.

On the way back to the hotel from City Museum, we ran across this beautiful church right next to this library.

The library had lots of quotes from books on the sidewalk outside. Here's a quote from the beginning of Harry Potter.

We found a Thai place across the street from the library and had a great view for dinner.

We decided the walk to the arch after dinner, which turned out to be a good decision because the next day it was raining.

the arch cast cool shadows onto the clouds

it was really windy!

The next morning, we had breakfast in bed. We were planning on going to the zoo, but since it was raining we decided to just drive home early.

yum!

Since Monday night was our actual anniversary, we had our wedding cake and watched Miracle on 34th Street. The cake was surprisingly good. It was a perfect anniversary celebration!
